Easy and Inexpensive Hair Detox

Do we really need to detoxify our hair? Is it not enough to shampoo and condition every day? Well, here is what happens when you use hair products bought over the counter; synthetic chemicals that are found in most conventional hair products are harsh and can strip our hair of its natural oils. When you add hair styling serums (which usually contains silicone) to your daily hair regimen, product build-up is inevitable resulting to lank, heavy and lacklustre hair.  When this happens only a detox can revive your hair.
There are plenty of hair detox product in the market, but then again contains chemicals as well, not to mention expensive. A good alternative is to use organic products that are found in your kitchen. Not only are they safe, they won’t also put a dent on your budget.
COCONUT MILK. It is an effective hair detox alternative that will give your hair a burst of nutrient and fats which will enhance hair growth and healthy scalp. You can make your own concoction at home by adding essential oils or you can buy it from the store instead of buying your old shampoo.

LEMON JUICE.  Add lemon juice to a bucket of tap water left to stand overnight and wash your hair to wash out impurities including drug metabolites usually present in the hair of light marijuana users.

VINEGAR WITH SALICYLIC ACID. Wash your hair with vinegar followed by salicylic acid, then wash it with detergent before rinsing thoroughly. Although it will not completely penetrate the hair cortex and cuticle to remove stronger drug metabolites, it will remove toxins and dirt that clings to your hair strands.

ROSEMARY. Rosemary has two main components (caffeic and rosmarinic acids) that can detoxify the hair from toxins and free radicals. Heat dried rosemary leaves and grape-seed oil in low heat for three hours until the leaves are infused with the oil mixture. Strain the concocted oil into a clean container and let it cool overnight. Use it to wash your hair, thoroughly massaging the scalp before rinsing. You may repeat the process as needed.

BAKING SODA AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. Make a paste by sprinkling baking soda into some water in the palm of your hand and massage it into your hair and scalp to remove toxin build-ups on your hair. Then wash hair and massage scalp with apple cider vinegar diluted in warm water. This process can also help to remove drug metabolites on the hair cuticle.

SEA SALT BATHSea salts contain valuable minerals that helps detoxify and cleanse. Mix one cup of sea salt with two cups of bicarbonate soda and one cup apple cider vinegar. Then soak your hair with the mixture for at least five minutes. Rinse and shampoo. Repeated use of this process has also been known to be an effective remedy to pass a hair drug test.
